Agreement to terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Hole Zero app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

Who can use Hole Zero

You must be at least 18 years old to use Hole Zero. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any wagers you make with other players comply with the laws of your jurisdiction.

What Hole Zero is — and isn't

Hole Zero is a scorekeeping and organization tool. It helps you log golf scores, run pools and leagues with your own group, calculate results for common game formats (Skins, Nassau, Match Play, Best Ball, Stableford, Scramble, Alternate Shot), and hand off settle-up to Venmo.

Hole Zero is not a payment processor, escrow service, or gambling operator. We do not collect, hold, transmit, or guarantee any money. Any wager, bet, or payout tracked in the App is an informal arrangement solely between you and the other players — Hole Zero has no role in, and no liability for, the outcome or collection of those arrangements. Where you choose to settle a balance, the App simply opens Venmo with the amount and recipient pre-filled; the transfer itself happens entirely within Venmo, under Venmo's own terms.

You are solely responsible for determining whether friendly wagers among your group are lawful where you live and play. Don't use Hole Zero for anything illegal.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

Content you provide

You retain ownership of the profile photos, chat messages, and other content you submit. By posting content visible to other players (like chat messages or your profile photo), you grant us a limited license to store and display that content within the App as part of providing the service.

Don't post content that's abusive, harassing, illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Course and course data

Hole layouts, yardages, par values, and weather-based recommendations are provided for general reference and may not always be fully accurate. Use your own judgment on the course — the App is a scoring and planning aid, not a substitute for local rules or a rangefinder's precision.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse-engineer or misuse the App, interfere with its normal operation, use it to harass or defraud other users, or use it to facilitate any activity prohibited by law, including unlawful gambling.

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that hole/course data will always be accurate. Golf involves inherent physical risk — the App does not manage or assume responsibility for your safety on the course.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hole Zero and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including disputes over wagers or payouts between players.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the App evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated terms.
